Euro 2008 Qualifiers

-Portugal vs Finland-
Finland have a chance of qualifying for this tournament. If they get a win against Portugal and Serbia lose one of their next 2 games then they can make it. But thats not exactly something that is easy to do. Portugal will no doubt settle with a draw by the final whistle, as that will put them in the finals. If Portugal snatch the lead than they will probably sit back and play more of a defensive game to keep it safe. I think Finland are going to play their hearts out against Portugal so I'm sticking with them.

Finland +1,1.5 ... -110

-Turkey vs Bosnia-
Turkey know that this is a must win game against Bosnia. If they draw this game you can expect them not to qualify for the finals because Norway should have an easy and very motivating game against Malta. Bosnia likes to put the ball in the back of the net against Turkey, so I'm pretty sure Turkey will be Trying to get those goals in the back of the net so they don't get screwed. I'm sticking with the over.

Over 3 Goals ... -102

-Malta vs Norway-
This is a must win for Norway. They usually handle Malta as well. The only gross thing about this is the spread. -2 is disgusting, but I'm going to stick with them here, keeping it small though, a 1-0 win gives them the same amount of points as a 3-0 win.

Norway -2 ... -114

World Cup Qualifiers

-Brazil vs Uruguay-
Uruguay always give Brazil a tough time. It's known. Just like Brazil always give Argentina a tough time. I'm going with Uruguay here to keep it a close game against Brazil.
2 units
Uruguay +1.5, 2 ... -117

-Ecuador vs Peru-
Ecuador hasn't been convincing enough for me for these qualifiers. With their coach just resigning after that 5-1 beat down against Uruguay I don't have faith to cover them to win a game by 2 goals. Peru has shown more for me to back them.

Peru +1/2, 1 ... -122

Hey KidA, what do you think about the Czech/Cyprus game? Czechs are only laying 0.5 goals. I know they have already qualified, and are playing in Cyprus, but a win will ensure they get a better seeding in the Euro. Thinking about hammering the Czech game at that spread.

Honestly Iceman, I didn't really know who to go with on this one, if i HAD to take a side though I might go with Cyprus, I remember the game they played earlier this year for the qualifiers and I wasn't impressed with the way the Czechs handled them at all. They barely took the game with a 1-0 victory and Cyprus had great chances to tie it up in the second half. Cyprus get the luxury of playing at home here but Czechs might have the motivation to get a better seeding, I mean they did beat Slovakia down 3-1 the other day after they already qualified, but personally its not a game that I feel like I could jump on. BOL on it if you do decide to take them =)

nobody wants a higher seeding.
the situation is that the head of the groups for euro2008 are Austria, Swiss, Greece and the highest seed. That means if you arethe highest seed you can not play against the other three who are amoungthe weakest in the tourney..if you rank 2nd or lower you will be in pool B and draw a "theoretically" weaker team.
They are talking in germany about that right now. the seeding is according to the uefa-ranking which seems to be very complicated and close right now. only thing i know is the germany is only the highest seed if they win and both Czech and Holland loose.

anyway: i dont think it s a factor for the teams NOT to show, but its definetely no reason to be ON these teams.

i would like to open the discussion about the england-croatia match:
england got a second life on saturday and need a draw here. i expect to make it somehow, but will it be easy. the line is at -1. croatia has not shown much interest in their MAZ loss on wednesday (which was played on more than terrible pitch conditions). will they have an interest to show up today? you could say it s already the first chance to eliminate one of the top teams for euro 08, so why not? on the other hand i expect england having trouble to score...they have always trouble to score anyway, but now with the added pressure and owen also out with injury, who should score for them ???????????
it will probably end in a 1-0 szenario, in which case the under would be the play.
i dont expect a blowout as a draw is already enough for england (and would cover for croatia)
what s your look on the game?

My look on the game is every time I find a reason to back one bet on this game I find a reason not to. England to win, they should but will they play it safe who knows. England for the under, your logic behind it is right but these are two teams who like to score against each other.

Euro 2008 Qualifying
Croatia England 2:0 details 11.10.2006
Euro 2004 - Portugal
England Croatia 4:2 details 21.06.2004
Friendlies 2003
England Croatia 3:1 details 20.08.2003

I'd personally back away from this game, and if you go with the under pray that Croatia don't score the opener or else it will be one open game.

I'm not intending to place any bets today.

But when i looked at the lines i liked the draw between England and Croatia, and the under.

Croatia have enough pride to not want to lose to England, and i think they will be going to England to play for a draw.

McClaren will be benching Beckham and Robinson with SWP and Carson set to replace them. Without Beckham's crosses Crouch's potential will not be fully exploited, but i think McClaren will bring Beckham on later in the game to give him his 99th cap. With that said SWP has been in good form and will cause trouble for Croatia's defence.

I don't foresee Croatia scoring more than 1 goal against England, in fact i don't fancy them scoring at all. So its up to whether England can find the net.

With some of the pressure off this is no longer a must win game and the England team will be extremely relieved. The team got 3-0 wins out of their last few games because of fast starts, and this is something i will not expect from England today.

Add the fact that Croatia is not a horrific team on the road and @ 3.15 the draw looks like good value. But England should win today, though because of the circumstances the draw looks like a value bet to me.

Rain in London plus an NFL match at Wembley hasn't exactly resulted in a good playing surface. This will affect the game of both teams, and i expect this to favour the under. Both teams are also decent defensive teams, and this won't be a high scoring affair.

BOL to all

is the pitch still affected by the NFL game? i thought that after the game there was only the option to replace the complete grass. did they not do that??? than it s really going to be low scoring. would be interesting to get some info on that

The Croatians trained at the £757million venue for just over an hour this evening ahead of tomorrow's crucial Group E qualifier. Only half of the pitch was used, with heat lamps in place to try to help battle against the continuing wet conditions. However, as the rain fell during the session, the top surface cut up in places. The turf had taken a severe battering during last month's controversial NFL American Football match. Despite the best efforts of Wembley groundstaff, the signs of wear and tear were clear for all to see.

It appears that the rain has not done much to help the situation

Went 3-2 on the day for a 2.76 unit win on the day guys. I'm glad you jumped on Uruguay B4Fun, I don't know if you watched the game live but WE GOT LUCKY. Brazil got a goal to make it 3-1 but it was ruled offside and after replays it showed that the play was actually onside, thank god the ref makes a mistake to go our way for once! =)

And as for England, WOW. Did not expect that, after all they went through with Israel against Russia they BLOW it! And after you grab the draw after being down 2-0 how do you make the mistake of conceding another!??!?!!! Thank god I stayed away from that one.
